Getting the word out

Hello, everyone.
Just wanted to send a quick update for today. I am starting to get the word out about the Safeway TP issue. I have handed out close to 100 postcards so far. We probably need more than that to get the General Manager to take notice and decide to re-stock all of the paper products again. If you want a stack of postcards to help pass some out, just let me know. I can either get you the Word doc or I can give you some of the printed cards. Just let me know either here through the blog or at the main site www.7Gens.com.
Thanks!

Other recycled toilet paper

Ok, so I haven't yet given up on getting Safeway to sell the Earth First recycled paper products, but in the meantime, we gotta... well, you know. So we need to buy toilet paper. I went around town last weekend and found all of the options. Here they are in alphabetical order:

Albertson's
- Seventh Generation 3-pack, paper towels (white), $4.99
- Seventh Generation, 12-pack "double rolls," 400 sheets/roll, 2-ply, $9.99
(100% recycled fiber content brand)

Breadroot Co-op
- Natural Value 12 pack of toilet paper, 250 2-ply sheets per roll, $7.45
- Natural Value single paper towel, $1.70
- Seventh Generation toilet paper single roll, $1.55
- Seventh Generation facial tissue, 175 tissues per box, $3.19
(All are 100% recycled fiber content brands)

Family Thrift Center (Westside store)
- Soft N Gentle 24-pack, 2-ply, 176 sheets per roll, $7.59
- Soft N Gentle 4-pack, 2-ply, 176 sheets per roll, $1.49
(75% recycled fiber content brand)

Safeway (Westside)
- Currently no recycled content paper products (for now!!)

Target - No recycled content paper products

Walgreens (Baken Park area)
- Big Roll, single rolls, 1000 1-ply sheets, $0.89 each or 4/$3.00
- Big Roll, 4-pack, 1000 1-ply sheets per roll, $2.89

Wal-Mart
- Soft N Gentle, 24-pack, 2-ply, 176 sheets per roll, $5.28
- Soft N Gentle, 12-pack, 2-ply, "double rolls," 352 sheets per roll, $5.28

I am sure that Main Street Market and Staple and Spice Market (health food stores downtown) also have them, I just did not make a special trip down there to stop in. They are not open on Sundays when I was making my rounds, and I normally don't shop in either one.

To save time, I only went to one of every store with more than one location. I used to live closer to the Mt. Rushmore Safeway, so I can say for certain they typically have fewer natural products than the Baken Park Safeway. I can't be sure for the other ones.

So, use your best judgment and make your own decision. As for me, we will be getting the Wal-Mart toilet paper, but hoping Safeway wises up soon so I can go back to the 100% recycled content and much softer Earth First toilet paper we are used to!

On that note, do let me know if you want to get some of the postcards to send to the Safeway store manager. I have them ready and brought some to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship today. I left some behind and I have a few extras I will be getting out through the health food stores (if they'll have them, since it's a competitor product to theirs...)
